Scholar Network Application 2017-2018

Are you a former foster youth? Are you admitted and enrolled for the 2017-2018 academic year? Are you looking for leadership experiences and opportunities to get involved? Then complete this form to register for Columbus State’s Scholar Network!

There are more than 600 students attending Columbus State that have identified as former foster youth. In 2015, Columbus State launched Columbus State Scholar Network with support from Ohio Reach, the Ohio Attorney General and the Columbus State Student Success Council. The Columbus State Scholar Network exists to support former foster youth enrolled for autumn and spring semester at Columbus State.

What are the benefits to participating in the Scholar Network?

  • Build confidence and learn about campus resources and job opportunities
  • Students receive a mentor and ongoing mentoring through the year
  • Students enjoy free meals and monthly workshops focused on building community and equipping students with soft skills
  • Scholars who meet the program minimum requirements (Conference, mentoring, and monthly workshops) throughout the semester are also eligible for stipends and other incentives to support student success, including emergency transportation assistance and/or giftcards
  • Scholars also receive care packages each semester, as well as, support and encouragement from the S.P.A.R.K. team
