9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance is a national day of service that will be held September 9-15. This will be a three-part event:

  • September 9 - Fall Day of Service
  • September 11 - Design for Change (a 9/11 remembrance event)
  • September 9-15 - Week of Service

The goal of these events is to provide a positive way for the community to pay tribute to the victims of 9/11, honor those that served in response to the attacks, and remind people of the importance of working closely together in peace to improve our world.

Description

The September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance is the culmination of efforts originally launched in 2002 by the 9/11 nonprofit MyGoodDeed with wide support by the 9/11 community and leading national service organizations. This effort first established the inspiring tradition of engaging in charitable service on 9/11 as an annual and forward-looking tribute to the 9/11 victims, survivors, and those who rose up in service in response to the attacks.
