Letters of Recommendation

Jun 5, 2015 by Emily Perrin Britt

A letter of recommendation can be written on your behalf to introduce you to a sorority before recruitment in August.  These are official forms that are unique to each individual sorority. They are provided by the national organization for their alumnae members to fill out on behalf of potential new members.  You can find links to the forms for all of the chapters at UK on our website under the recruitment tab, and also linked here.

At the University of Kentucky, chapters do not require potential new members to submit letters of recommendation. However, if you would like to submit them only 1-2 per chapter is necessary.  Our advice is to not spend any extra time trying to track down alumnae members to write them, but if you have friends or family members who would like to, that’s great!

We request that all letters of recommendation be sent to our office and addressed to the chapter. The sorority houses are unoccupied during the summer, so this helps make sure that the chapters receive the letters.
