Language Partners: Cross Cultural Connection Event #3

Come join Language Partners as we watch a few short videos about language and culture and engage in a discussion about them afterwards. This is a really great opportunity for us to talk about the importance of language and reflect on why we are participating in this program. We will debrief with each other about what we learned about ourselves and others this semester– and enjoy some drinks and snacks too!

Vagina Monologues

Every February, staff, faculty, and students comes together to perform Vagina Monologues for the MU and Columbia community. Our cast has ranged from 25 all the way to 200 people! Each year, the play is done to raise money for a program that helps to fight gender based violence in our community and around the world.

The Vagina Monologues is an episodic play written by Eve Ensler which developed and premiered at HERE Arts Center and was followed by an Off-Broadway run in 1996...

Women's Poetry Night

All are welcome to come celebrate our annual Women’s poetry Night! Join renowned and up-and-coming poets and spoken word artists from MU and beyond as they share their literary work. Refreshments will be provided.

WC Lounge Reservation

Our space is open to everyone: students, staff, faculty and community; women, transgender, and gender non-conforming folks and men.  It's a great place for group meetings, study groups, programs, and social events.

Our Lounge has to seat up to 40 but can fit up to 70 folks.   Please put the seating back the way it was.  There is a seating chart available in a picture frame below the TV.   The TV is ready to watch DVDs or cable or connect to the Internet....

Spring 2019 Language Partners Application

LPP pairs one native English speaker with one non-native English speaker.  The pairs get together once a week for a minimum of one hour and practice conversational English.  The program is a great opportunity to learn about another culture and make a new friend.  The focus of the program is to assist the non-native English speaker with their conversational English, awareness of US culture and knowledge of living in Columbia, MO.

Vagina Monologues Auditions 2019

Thank you for your interest in Vagina Monologues 2019!!

The monologues are open to students, faculty, and staff who identify as Womxn*. We encourage all planning to audition to fill out this form prior to auditioning. 

Auditions will be Monday, October 29th from 5PM-7PM and Wednesday, October 31st from 2PM-4PM

Vagina Monologues will be February 16th at 7:30 p.m.
