Welcome to the South Asian Students Association!
The South Asian Students Association is a student organization that represents the South Asian community by being a front runner in the organization of multicultural events and programs at Syracuse University.
By creating a multicultural atmosphere on campus, the South Asian Students Association strives to bring members of the SU community together in celebrating a unique culture. Furthermore, SASA plays a big part in promoting South Asian culture at SU through cultural events, social service, and festival celebrations.
The South Asian Student Association collectively embraces the cultures of Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka in an attempt to promote and preserve the richness and diversity of said countries here at Syracuse University. SASA provides an interactive and safe environment for all students, both of South Asian, and non-South Asian background, to explore the vastness of South Asia through events including, but not limited to movies, music, dance, celebrations, and bi-monthly meetings, focused on discussing social and political issues. SASA provides a space for the South Asian Diaspora and all students interested in South Asian culture to convene and embrace one another as a community.
