Greetings fellow Creations Counterparts, I hope that everyone does well during finals. The Spring Semester has been abundant with much success. Not only did we perform at numerous engagements, but we are "SU's Best Dance Crew." I can not wait until the fall to start working on our annual show which will mark Creations Dance Company's 34th year in existence!

Portal Information

Description

Creations Dance Company is the first dance company founded on Syracuse campus over 40 years ago. We pride ourselves on continuously providing the Syracuse community with various forms of dance and expression that correlate directly with underrepresented individuals. Creations Dance Company was founded by ten dynamic women of color out of desperation when African Americans were not given the opportunity to showcase their artistry with other dance groups present on campus.
Originally, Creations only performed traditional African dance, but as time went on, our repertoire came to include jazz, ballet, salsa/merengue, tap, modern, hip-hop, and even some elements of Vogue. However, in order to keep true to the original intention of our ten founders, we perform at least one African dance in our annual show every year.
