Race for the Cure
Oct 4, 2016 by Jonathan Renard
My name is Casey Hilditch and I am a Senior in the Nursing Program here at Ohio University. Our senior nursing class is so excited to announce that we are hosting our second annual Susan G. Komen Athens Race for the Cure on Sunday, October 23rd. It is truly an honor that the most widely known, largest and best funded Breast Cancer organization in the United States collaborates with Ohio University in our little town of Athens to put on this race.
Last year, we were very impressed with the various organizations involvement with fundraising and participation in the race, but this year we are striving to have an even better turn out! We want as many organizations as possible to form teams to represent their organization, fundraise as hard as they can, and join us on October 23rd to Race for the Cure!
Creating a team is super simple and takes barely any time! Visit the Athens Race for the Cure website and create your team from there. You can fundraise and ask for donations using your team’s online page, and can also donate by purchasing one of our OU Race for the Cure t-shirts which are only $10 and can be bought online.
The organization that donates the largest amount to Susan G. Komen will be awarded a Papa John’s pizza party for your entire organization as well as a $50 gift card to Buffalo Wild Wings! All donations must be confirmed online by the day of the race, Sunday October 23rd.
As the Senior Nursing Class of Ohio University, we want to say thank you for helping us fight back against Breast Cancer and making a difference in the lives of so many. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on the day of the race!
