Apply for a Club Executive Role with the Melbourne Netball Club today!

Apr 24, 2015 by Jason Slater

The ACU Melbourne Netball Club is a newly formed club that welcomes players of any standard to play in social and high level competitions at locations such as Royal Park, Footscray and Richmond. Club members play weekly throughout the semester in their nominated competition, and may be presented with the opportunity to be a part of the Intervarsity Netball Team at the Southern and Australian Unigames in July and September respectively.

The club is looking for students to assist in the recruitment of new members and organization of teams. Our Club Admin Officer Megan is currently managing all of this on her own, and is keen to get some students involved for Semester Two.

A club executive role is a great opportunity to meet some new, likeminded students and improve on your leadership and organizational skills. Not only can you build on these skills, but you will also play netball for free as a thank you for your hard work and dedication throughout the semester. Other potential perks pop up occasionally due to our relationship with the ACU Sovereigns in the VNL and Netball Victoria.

The roles available include:

Oversee and coordinate the activities and administration of the club, including the operation of the Executive Committee (EC).
Act as chairperson at all meetings
Report on the progress of the Club to the Sports Activity Officer and ACU Sports Committee
Represent the club at official functions and meetings

Supply a copy of Club rules to any member upon a reasonable request.
Keep an updated list of Club members
Notify all members of proposed changes to the Rules , meeting times and events
Produce agendas of all meetings for the club

Manage the Club finances
Present a financial report at the AGM and at other Club meetings as requested by the EC
