AAAN Freshmen Immersion Retreat for Successful Transitions (AAAN F.I.R.S.T)
The AAAN Freshmen Immersion Retreat for Successful Transitions (F.I.R.S.T) is a two week college immersion program that was created for incoming African American undergraduate freshmen students (Fall 2017) in order to gain an up close and personal look at UIC from an African American perspective.
FIRST Scholars will gain exposure to the UIC campus, faculty and staff and the bevy of resources available before the start of the fall term semester. In addition, scholars will engage with current students and academic professionals through informative seminars, internship experiences and team building and social activities.
Please note that there is a limited number of slots for this inaugural retreat. The first twenty five students that register for the mentioned program will be given strong consideration for participation. The application deadline is July 12th at 12P.M.
