The Chestatee Review club is for Dahlonega students who want to participate in the promotion and publication of the UNG annual literary magazine, the award winning Chestatee Review. The magazine includes literary writing in four genres--essays, short stories, drama, and poetry--as well as visual arts, both two dimensional and three dimensional (the latter through photos).
Events are scheduled to promote the creation and dissemination of literary and visual arts work. Face-to-face events include Open Mics and the PoeDown, and contests include a FlashFiction contest and Submissions to the magazine.
The club also allows students to attend and compete in the Southern Literary Festival each year, a four-day event held at a different college in the Southeast each Spring.
The club coordinates with Chestatee Review clubs on other UNG campuses.
